The Hōhepa Candle initiative was founded in the early 1980s at Hōhepa Clive. Now in the Napier CBD, Hōhepa Creative Works is a vibrant studio producing handmade quality products.

The candle making team produce natural products out of 100% locally sourced beeswax from Takapau Kintail Honey.

Hōhepa offers quality, individualised support for intellectually disabled children and adults in a community where all people can forge a sense of identity and belonging.

Their work focuses on people and community. They have a person-centred approach where strengths, aspirations, and autonomy are celebrated. Placing a strong value on building community where through strong connections and relationships everyone can access housing, education, fun and recreational activities, as well as a range of volunteer and paid work opportunities.
